The Great Recap · Last updated: June 24, 2026
This AI Policy explains how The Great Recap uses artificial intelligence (“AI”), what content is sent to model providers, and what you should expect from AI-generated results. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. By using AI-powered features, you acknowledge this policy.
Generative AI in The Great Recap is used to:
These calls are made from Supabase Edge Functions using server-side API credentials — our provider keys are never exposed in your browser.
When you trigger a generation step, the relevant content is packaged and sent securely to one or more AI providers, and the result is returned to your browser for review. You can regenerate or edit prompts and re-run steps until you are happy, then approve the final proof for printing.
We use reputable third-party AI services to generate text and images, which may include providers such as OpenAI (text), Perplexity (research-assisted text), and an image-generation provider that routes requests to underlying image models. Providers may change as we improve the product. Each provider’s own terms, safety filters, logging, and regional availability apply in addition to this policy.
Inputs are limited to what the creative task requires. Examples include:
Do not paste secrets, financial account numbers, government ID numbers, health records, or confidential material into prompts or captions.
We do not use your photos, prompts, or book content to train proprietary The Great Recap models. Model weights are maintained by upstream vendors. Whether a vendor may use API traffic under its own terms for model improvement is governed by that vendor’s policies and the tier we subscribe to; we select privacy-appropriate configurations where available, but you should assume vendor-side systems may process requests according to their own documentation.
We do not control upstream logging in detail. Providers may retain prompts, outputs, or safety telemetry for abuse prevention, billing, or compliance. For the most accurate description of vendor retention, consult the relevant provider’s current AI API documentation.
The Great Recap does not use AI to make legally significant, solely automated decisions about you (such as credit, employment, or housing eligibility). It is a creative tool.
We may update models, providers, or this policy. Continued use after the “Last updated” date above constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law. Material changes to privacy-related commitments are handled consistent with our Privacy Policy.
